Hello and welcome to my web site!

Well, the walk is finally over! A journey that began at Brighton pier on the 10th of May, 2009, and finished at the pier exactly 5 months later on the 10th of October, 2009.
During the walk I went through 28 counties and covered around 2,000 miles. This was achieved by walking 16.4 miles each day, 6 days a week, come rain or shine.
It was done in aid of the incredible work being achieved by cancer research organisations in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Another reason for the walk was to raise awareness to the importance of early diagnosis in certain cancers.
Cancer Research is so important. Did you realise that one in three of us will be affected by cancer during our lifetime. That's a scary fact!

During the walk, many people I had met suggested I should write a book about my journey, so this is what I am about to do.
I have kept a daily diary, parts of which I have pasted into my web page, so it will be relatively easy to recall events from each and every day of the walk.
I have already written up an introduction to the book to give you some idea about its content.
Please go to Intro to 'The Book' page to read it.
